December Treats for Young Readers!

Not only is reading itself fun, we are adding an extra treat for young readers in December!

In December, the library will kick off a weekly 100 minutes reading challenge. Every child age 15 or under who reads (or is read to) for 100 minutes in a week will receive a $5 gift coupon to either Bubba B’s Ice Creamery, Michelle’s Sweet Treats, or Northern Neck Popcorn Bag .

Our weekly “100 Minutes” reading challenge for kids runs from December 1 to December 18, 2020.

To signup for this program , you must email Ruth Lynn at
Please include your:
Children’s name (s)
School, Homeschool or other

Once you are signed up and receive our email back confirming you’re enrolled, you may start your reading log. Completed reading logs are to be emailed on Fridays back to Ms. Ruth. When turning in your log, please let Ms. Ruth know which food coupon you would like. All food coupons will be mailed out after receiving the completed reading log.

PLEASE NOTE: The December reading challenge will be shorter due to Rappahannock Community College (our library’s location) closing for Winter Break. The last day to turn in your log for December will be on the 18th to receive your coupon.
