Richmond County Public Library

Book & DVD Pickup Event

Posted by on

While our library remains closed, we are offering a book and DVD pickup service during the week of July 13-17, taking requests until Thursday, July 16 at 12 Noon.

We will be scheduling pickups between 9:00 and 11:45AM on Friday, July 17th outside the front doors at the RCC campus in Warsaw. The library will check out up to 5 books or DVDs per borrower and place them in plastic bags with names on each bag on a table outside our main building for pickup at the designated time while maintaining social distancing.

To request books or DVDs (or a combination of the two) for pickup, please send an e-mail with the subject line “Pickup Request” and the following information to dream@rappahannock.edu

1.Your name

2. RCC campus (Glenns or Warsaw) where you wish to pick up your books on Friday morning, July 17th

3. Top two choices of pickup times between 9:00 and 11:45AM on July 17th (PLEASE NOTE: we will try to accommodate your time choice, but to in order to reduce crowding and maintain distancing, we will e-mail you your exact pickup time before Friday)

4. A list in ranked order of items wanted to checkout and whether each item is a book, audiobook on CD or a DVD. You may list as many items as you wish, but the library will check out to you the 5 highest ranked items on your list that are available when your request is received.

Not sure if we have what you’re looking for?
To search the RCC Library’s book and DVD collections, go to https://tinyurl.com/rccpickup and type in title, author, or subject keywords.
This video at https://tinyurl.com/rcpl4us will demonstrate how to see what books and DVDs our library owns.

Requests will be filled in the order received and an e-mail confirmation will be sent beforehand confirming your pickup time and location on Friday morning, July 17th.

Library staff will wear masks and gloves while handling these books, but anyone concerned about the books/DVDs safety may want to leave them in their plastic bags for 72 hours before opening, after which no coronavirus germs are thought to survive on surfaces.
